Well, we love all our clients but this family has helped so much with all the family wedding preparations and we wanted to show our appreciation with an extra special location family portrait session. We went up to Riley's Farm in Oak Glen to finalize wedding plans and took the opportunity to take the kids all over the farm picking pumpkins and looking at the animals. It's so much fun to photograph a family enjoying fun activities on a beautiful day!

Vintage Modern Photography does Vintage Modern Design too!
UPDATE!
Here is a photo of Don after he received his poster. I received many wonderful messages from our Project 52 group, Don himself and even his daughter for creating the poster which made me even happier to have done the work. I love our business!
We are a creative family and design is a big part of everything we do. We set up and style our sessions to tell a story. We work with our brides in planning their weddings to take the photography into consideration in capturing the memories of the hard work that goes into a "Dream Wedding". We sometimes even design the wedding invitations as well as other graphic elements that can go into a wedding (signs, banners...).
In a later post I will share some of the wedding invitations I have designed but today I am excited to share a poster design I created for Don Giannatti's CreativeLive.com/live session. It is a 60's inspired poster of audience quotes of appreciation for his workshop and the folks at Creativelive.com had it printed and will be presenting it to him at the end of the day in front of their worldwide audience of photographers who look to improve their skills with great workshops like Don's...eek! I hope he loves it, will he tear up?
Don is a mentor to me, I am participing in his Pro Project 52 and learning so much about lighting and commercial photography. I am meeting and working with some amazing photographers as well as learning from them. My quote is in red at the top of the poster, there are some great photographers who continue to learn from Don as well. I really appreciate this wonderful teacher who gives so much of his knowledge and experience wanting me to be a better, successful photographer. I hope it shows as I continue to photograph my clients this year.

The Biggest Event of 2011
Weddings are pretty big events and we had lots of work and fun marrying off 2 sisters in the family but nothing beats the joy of a new baby. We were so blessed with the first grandbaby of the family and our favorite baby model Dominic so we were ecstatic that another little boy who would be called JoJo was coming.
Ray and Sarah love Disneyland so Samantha did their maternity session there. We walked around their favorite spots and created a stop motion video of the shots showing a family day at Disneyland for their growing family that you can see HERE.
When that baby came we were thrilled beyond words. We've had lots of fun photographing that baby and his brother. This is why I LOVE maternity and newborn photography. I know firsthand what a blessing a new baby is and how much grandparents want those great images to show off!
We will share JoJo's newborn session in a later post, it was something special! We have lots of exciting stuff for 2012! Engagements and weddings and families and something new for us! We are continuing to educate ourselves to improve our photography. I hope you keep up with our photographic adventures or better yet be a part of them!

2011 - Love and Marriage Part Deux
When a daughter get's married it's lots of planning, work, fun, shopping and so much more. When two daughters get married that gets doubled and then some. When one of those daughters is a photographer, well...that takes planning to a whole new level! When the Samantha got married every detail had the photography in mind and being a photographer hiring one who could fit the bill was a bit of work. Samantha wanted someone who could photograph her wedding like she would and she found it in 3 talented women who make up madeulookphotography.
The best memories of the day were recorded in an amazing video made by Marielle Chua and we will treasure those memories as a family for many years to come! You can see it HERE!
